Skincare, Pilates and Other Things I’m Loving Lately

Phew, it’s been a hot minute since I last sat down to write a blog post. I’ve gone through a really intense period of focus on what I believe I’m best at: 1:1 coaching, podcasting and live events. Those are my focuses. That said, I have an ancient love for writing and it won’t be going anywhere soon.

I just returned from my annual beach trip to Dauphin Island, Alabama with my family and I’m settling back into my routine nicely.

Recently, I’ve been up to a lot of things that I feel so blessed to be able to share.

I spoke at a high school graduation, which meant I faced one of my BIGGEST fears: public speaking.

I hosted the Confidence Revival Retreat with six incredible women at Kripalu.

I’m coaching six of the most incredible, dedicated clients I’ve ever had.

I’m tapping into a new version of health, “fitness” and business that is leading to increasingly deeper alignment with what feels good (even though sometimes those definitions change on a daily basis).

I’m recording interviews with more and more incredible people, reading deliciously insightful books, practicing my acroyoga weekly and making some new friends along the way. It’s been busy but beautiful.

Tonight I felt called to write a little somethin’ somethin’ and landed on writing a simple What I’m Loving Lately post. Here they are:

1. Nudu

I’ll be honest (when am I not, though?).

I’m pretty terrible at keeping up with skincare. Always have been. One night I was stroking my sister’s baby soft face and was stricken with sisterly jealousy as I wished I had her silky smooth cheeks. Around that time I was also offered a free sampling of a product called Nudu. I said yessss, bring it.

Turns out, I fell in love.

I adore using Nudu for many reasons but here is a quick summary from their website: “Feel beautiful with Nudu Gentle Moisturizer. Luxuriate as softening peach kernel, camellia and kiwi seed oils moisturize and nourish your skin. Benefit from antioxidant green coffee and white tea. Restore a youthful glow with anti-aging superstars: hyaluronic acid, sesame protein, and collagen.”

What really got me was: first, the delicious smell and second, the way it feels on my skin. Light, fresh and energizing. Like I said, it takes a REALLY good product for me to actually use it regularly but this one I put on every night and sometimes mornings. Click HERE to check out the gentle moisturizer (my favourite) and you can use coupon MOON20 for 20% off. YA!

2. Megareformer Pilates

I did the megareformer once a couple years ago and didn’t like it. I wasn’t at a time in my life where I wanted to be doing any “intense” work outs so I stuck with yoga. I went back to pilates about 4 months ago, though, and wow. This time, it was movement heaven for me. EVERYTHING I want in a workout is wrapped up into a perfect package with megareformer pilates.

I go to THIS studio and it consistently gives me exactly what I need. Yes, it’s very challenging but it’s challenging in a fun way. There is good music going on, the teachers are encouraging and every single class has a different routine. I also like the fact that the movements are all done really slowly. Instead of having an intense workout like CrossFit that makes you want to throw up, I prefer doing intensity in a different way. It’s not about increasing heart rate necessarily, but more about increasing muscle awareness and fatigue. Look for a megareformer studio around you and let me know what you think! It’s also called the Lagree Method.

3. Book of She

This is my current read. It’s been on my shelf for awhile and I finally got around to reading it when I took it to Alabama last week. I’m loving it. I recommend this if you’re interested in the Divine Feminine like I am.

4. Acroyoga

Guys, are you not yet on the Acroyoga train? I can’t get enough. Here’s a pretty cool little thing I learned the other week.

5. Astrology Basics 101 eCourse

Alison Lessard has a WONDERFUL four week astrology course if you’re interested in learning the basics. THIS course is only $79 (which is ridiculously cheap for the value you get) and she will teach you sooo much about all of the signs in the zodiac, the greek gods associated with them, the planets and more. I can’t believe how much I learned over the duration of the course and Ali continues to answer my questions when they pop up.

If you’ve ever been interested in learning how to read a natal chart, I highly recommend you sign up for her program while the price is so low!

(I am not an affiliate for her course, I just really loved it!)

6. My 2017 Spotify Playlist

So many of you ask me what songs I’m playing during my Instagram stories. If you dig what you hear, I recommend you just follow THIS playlist for 2017 favourites. I add songs throughout the year as I hear them, so obviously it’s a pretty big playlist, but it’s solid gold goodness in my humble opinion (and all very random, so you never know what you’re going to get!).

7. Handmaid’s Tale

This series is so freaky, brilliant and addicting. You may need a tough stomach to swallow it, but if you can make it through the demoralizing concept, I think you’re going to love it. Watch it on Hulu HERE.

*If you like this show, also check out Black Mirror on Netflix.

8. Journey // Retreat to Mexico City

Last but not least, time is a-tickin’ to sign up for the trip I’m co-leading to Mexico City! Hurry and put down your deposit if you want to come with me to refurbish a school, meditate, do yoga, play in the jungle and make new friends. Link HERE.

That’s it for now! Hope you find some new interests out of this list and maybe even try something new. Let me know if you’re also enjoying any of these things lately by commenting below.
