Busy and Burnt Out: How to Rest in the Hustle Bustle
Episode 158: It's summertime, so that means we're in the midst of high-energy! The kids are out of school, there are projects to be done, BBQs to be had, camping to be experienced and much more.Generally, around this time of year, I get really overwhelmed with the hustle bustle going on around me. It's exciting, of course, but at times it can also be emotionally draining. With coaching, friends, retreats, podcasting, reading, dating and being a dog mom, there are tons of things that need to be done before the end of any given day. I can't even imagine what it must be like for those of you who have kids!So in this podcast, I want to teach you some ways to slow down and take care of yourself, even when you feel like you can't. Trust me, you can. Let's make it happen.Show notes:

An example of one of my previous clients who had tons of masculine energy as a lawyer and how she found her own rest and recovery in the hustle bustle
The importance of handing over work to take off the amount on your plate
Why there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you if you need periods of rest from your work (y'all, I usually take an entire SEASON off!)
Why we as humans are not build for working massive amounts of hours a week + also doing everything else in our lives
Another story of one of my friends who is also struggling to recover from burn out because she is over-working and under-charging
How some religions might influence you to believe that charging money for your services is not as good as doing things for free
Why it's actually selfish to not rest and recover because then, you're not showing up as your full self to those who DO matter in your life
A third example of another one of my clients who was becoming burnt out because she was completely ignoring her nurturing, intuitive feminine self
Why you should be taking as MUCH off your plate as possible, whether it's activities that drain you or beliefs that are subconsciously sabotaging you
10 things you needs to remember when it comes to resting in the hustle bustle:
Understand rest is not indulgent
Believe your highest value is when you are highly taken care of
It’s selfish to deprive others from your fully rested self
Do one thing really well instead of a ton of things just okay
Outsource (cleaning house, a babysitter twice a week, grocery shopping service)
Nap!
Wake up earlier for “me time”
Do things you enjoy more
Do random acts of kindness
Say no more! People will understand

Then, we will head to the jungles of Tepoztlan, Mexico: known as birthplace of the ancient Mayan God Quetzalcoatl.
Here we’ll take two days to reflect and reconnect, with a carefully-crafted agenda of meditation and yoga, Mayan Sweat Lodge ceremonies led by a local Shaman, chakra therapy pools and a walking labyrinth meditation, hikes into the hills and healthy meals shared onsite.
