Every so often I get asked what books have really peaked my interest, what podcasts I am diving into, and what activities I fill my days with. Although I could probably make a 20 minute video listing all of the different things I’m enjoying, I decided to keep it simple and give you 5 really wonderful things I have in my life right now.

If you like watching videos such as this one, leave a comment below and let me know! I’d be happy to make more if this is something you have interest in.

1. The Tim Ferriss Show

Tim Ferriss, author of the Four Hour Work Week, The Four Hour Body, and The Four Hour Chef, is a human guinea pig. He is an exceptional human being that tries pretty much every experiment on his body, lifestyle and energy if it has sound research to back it up. Though his podcast is made up of a 90% male demographic, I find all of his conversations fascinating. He has on exceptional authors, writers, comedians, actors and musicians to talk about their trade secrets in being the best human beings they can be. I particularly loved the episodes with B.J. Novak, Rainn Wilson, Tony Robbins and A.J. Jacobs. Though I don’t agree with everything they suggest, I have a healthy appreciation for the different theories, practices and experiments they try out for themselves. Give it a go!

2. The Red Tent

My favourite novel right now is called The Red Tent.  Holy be-jezuz! This book is amazing. Taken from Amazon:

“Her name is Dinah. In the Bible, her life is only hinted at in a brief and violent detour within the more familiar chapters of the Book of Genesis that tell of her father, Jacob, and his twelve sons.

Told in Dinah’s voice, Anita Diamant imagines the traditions and turmoils of ancient womanhood–the world of the red tent. It begins with the story of the mothers–Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah–the four wives of Jacob. They love Dinah and give her gifts that sustain her through childhood, a calling to midwifery, and a new home in a foreign land. Dinah’s story reaches out from a remarkable period of early history and creates an intimate connection with the past.

Deeply affecting, The Red Tent combines rich storytelling with a valuable achievement in modern fiction: a new view of biblical women’s lives.”

If you’re interested in learning more about the sacred history of the female body, phases of the moon, ancient feminine rituals, and the beautiful bond that only soul sisters can share, read this book! You do not need to be Christian or religious to fall in love with this story.

3. The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need

I’m loving this book because it’s written in a very organized fashion so that you can easily go through and learn more about each sign, how they affect you and why there’s more to astrology than just the sun signs. There’s actually a ton. It can be overwhelming, which is why I’m first learning about myself and my own nature, then moving on to learn about my friends and family. I figure this is a good way to go about learning more about the signs instead of just tackling it all head on. If you’re interested in astrology, this is the only book you’ll ever need!

4. Acro-yoga

Love, love, love my acro-yoga. Though I only go once or twice a week, it’s a practice that not only makes me physically stronger but it also makes me emotionally and mentally more stable. As a flyer, I learn more about the art of trust in others and surrendering. As a base, I learn to trust and believe in myself. It’s a beautiful experience every time. The other thing I love about acro-yoga is that it forces you to become intimate and trusting with another human being immediately, even if you’ve never met them before. Talk about getting out of your comfort zone!

5. Memrise

Last but not least, Memrise is a language learning app. When I was preparing for my trip to Europe, I started freshening up my basic French skills so that I would feel confident enough to ask where the bathroom was, where food was, etc. I love this app because it makes reviewing old words mandatory so that you don’t move to the next “level” without really knowing the previous words. It’s basically like Rosetta Stone but in my opinion even better!
